A country party: Welcome Autumn!

From the 21 of September it's Autumn!

Here in italy we feel still in summer because the weather it's so hot. However the trees are becoming orange and yellow and it's the time to start thinking about to all the delicacies that autumn bring along like chestnuts, pumpkins and mushrooms.

Last week end I spent a really great day with my parents in a small country nestled in the hills: Castell'Arquato! Here there was a beatiful party over the streets of the village to celebrate the begining of autumn.

Food of the season

There was a big stand where you can buy the typical delicacies of the season:

- Chestnuts cooked over a big eber;

- "Chisolini", a typical kind of a salad fried pasta accompanied with meats such as coppa, salami and ham;

- Great red wines that are producted on the hills around Castell'Arquato.

Ancient crafts

Autumn it's usual associated to the rural world and in the streets of Castell'Arquato there were a lot of people that reproduced the jobs of the old world of ours grandfathers and grandmothers.

Therewere some women that were peeling corn to prepare it for a machine that pulverize them to obtain the flou

There was the exposure of some old tools of the house like a like abed warmer made in wood. It was used with the ember of the fireplace to heat beds

To commemorate the preparation of the wine some children were called to press the grape in a big basin from which exit the grape wine

Exposure of od tractors

There were two long lines o old tractors that were used to work the fields.

In one of this photo you can see also my father

One of this tractors, a old Landini model, was start using a gs cylinder. As you can see in these photo there was a lot of smoke! All the people around were escaped! I think that the actual models are not so smoked .... or at least I hope!

There was also a sparkling red Cadillac!

Carriage with horses

There was a carriage with two beatiful white horses that carry people around the village like it was in ancient times when the car wasn't already invented.

Dance and music

To animate the party there was a group of Harley motorcyclists that were singing contry songs involving also the public around.

In another side there were dancing masters, of a school of country and folk dance, that were demonstrate some dances to attract people to their courses.

I hope I have transmit you the old spirit of this country party and I left you with two photos romantic of the Arda river that flows at Castell'Arquato. This photo are not so good. Can you see ducks that are swimming?
